“The story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights” Gloria Steinem
International Women’s Day is a time to be celebrated by all women from all walks of life, all celebrating the achievements of brave, strong and smart women in both the past, present and for the future.
The first Woman’s Day occurred in New York 1909, organised as a day to remember a strike for shorter working hours, better pay and voting rights for women which happened in 1908. Since then, this National Women’s Day grew to an International Women’s Day as of 1910, and for the next few years the world watched as more and more countries jumped on board to celebrate this revolutionary day.
International Women’s Day will fall on the 8th of March this year. We plan to celebrate this great day on the 6th of March with a special breakfast, so you can spend your morning with your best friends, your sister, mother or aunt.
