Nostalgia month: Throwback to the 70s and 80s

After spending the first two weeks of Nostalgia Month sending a nod to our beloved 50s and 60s, we’ll be moving into the home stretch. Join us for the final fortnight of our special menus down memory lane with dedications to the 70s and 80s.

70s week: Monday 15 – Saturday 20 August

While we won’t claim it’s part of that famous ‘champagne diet’ that so many 70s stars seemed to swear by, you’ll have a share of the bubbles on offer. Jog those memories of hours spent listening to The Bee Gees and eating apricot chicken with our special 70s menu. Oh, and we haven’t forgotten about mum’s bread and butter pudding – seeing that in the oven always made the night an instant success.

Beef wellington

rib fillet and mushroom duxelle in a puff pastry case with red wine jus and steamed mixed vegetables

Apricot chicken

the magical combination of chicken in an apricot and French onion sauce, served with potato gratin and steamed greens (GF)

Vicki’s mother’s recipe and served warm with Chantilly cream and berries

fresh slivered strawberries in Chantilly cream flavoured with Cointreau (GF)

80s week: Monday 22 – Saturday 27 August

We all said hello to Michael Jackson hits and crispy beef burgundy pies with the introduction of the 80s. Our wistful menu will throw back to classics like crème brulee and macadamia-crusted barramundi. Don’t worry, indulging in some 80s food doesn’t mean you have to suffer through the fashion again.

Camembert chicken

crumbed chicken breast filled with camembert and pan fried, served with cranberry sauce, potato gratin and a side salad

Creme brulee of the day

rich custard topped with a crisp toffee lid, served with berries & ice cream (GF)
