What does winter mean to you? A romantic skate on the ice? Or how about cosying up in a ‘Euro-style’ cabin, sipping a warm mug of mulled wine? Or perhaps it’s frolicking around in the snow, throwing snowballs, building snowmen or dazzling with a snow angel?
Well, The Winter Festival has arrived and it promises to make all your magical winter dreams come true.
For those who’s closest snow fall has been tasting Brisbane’s freak hail storm, here is your chance to experience snow and ice in a more enchanting, white wonderland kind of way. King George Square is transformed to entertain this special festival with European style winter markets serving apre-ski culinary delights from over 20 real winter experiencing countries.
The festival runs from June 17 to July 10 and hosts one of the country’s largest outdoor ice skating rinks! But the winter fun doesn’t stop there. There will be tobogganing racing through snowy hills on the Toboggan Slide, a powder pit where you can let your creativity loose and build as many snowmen as your frosty heart desires, as well as captivating entertainment that will see you warming up and bopping along to the music.
But just incase you are still feeling the chill post skate, come across and warm up at Room with Roses with a pot of specialty tea and some warm raspberry scones.
We’re open Mon – Sat – 9:00am to 3:30pm, so stop by and warm up with us.
